AASBO/TRA Kyoto GT 86: part 1

Boom. Here comes the new project. This should be the most awesome one I have by this moment.
Tamiya Gt86 body + custom fenders (previously trashed Yokomo BMW) and a custom paint job.

CVD mod. The hard way.

Now you all remember the previous post, about the easy way. Today I tried something more hard.
Basically, I had 45mm square wide angle dog-bones. They did not fit the CVD cup, because the ball joint was too big. So, I had to widen the cup, and also widen the pin holes.
Everything turned out great. No play, very smooth, and stiff - almost like a factory CVD. Angle increase is significant, as you can see from the picture below. Now I will have to find a way to increase Steering rack travel to handle these nearly 60 degrees of lock.

ARD CER torque rods

It's not a secret, that ARD has some play in front suspension arms and C-hubs. Not critical at all, but still a bit frustrating.

Some time ago, I saw this mod on one of Malaysian (or somewhere in that Area) forum. As I was explained then - it increases the stiffness of the whole front, and removes all of the play. I was surprised, how stiff the chassis became. 121 Spur clearance is pretty tight.

And it almost does not influence the suspension work at all.

Onevia pop-up lights. Finally done

Well, it's been almost a year since I cut the holes for these pop-up lights. And now they are finally done.
I was in a real hurry, so I messed up some parts, but I really like that it works, and it is finished at last.
This body holds a total of 22 LED's with working turn signals, stop lights, rearward movement lights, and blinkers, as well as an intercooler (which i don't have yet) light. ALl thanks to this magical thingy.

Here is a small video of how it works.

Pop up lights

Well, this technique is not a secret, but I heard a lot of my mates asking "how can I do the pop-up lights".
That's why I decided to make a small DIY post.
